Physical, speech, and occupational therapists at Deaconess Hospital use various treatment techniques to minimize pain and improve overall health and mobility whether you've suffered an injury on the job, are recovering from a stroke or are getting back on your feet after a total knee replacement or sports injury. Therapy plays an important role in returning an individual to the highest level of function possible after suffering from disability, injury illness or other medical conditions.

Along with extensive clinic therapy sessions, each area of rehab offers comprehensive home programs designed to maximize independent living. At Deaconess, our licensed therapists incorporate the use of functional activities and adaptive equipment to increase endurance, strength and coordination.

Some of the common diagnoses treated include:

  • Total joint replacement
  • Sports and work-related injuries
  • Hand/finger/wrist dysfunction
  • Cancer
  • Stroke
  • Brain/spinal cord injury
Prescreening Driver's Evaluation Program

Deaconess OT also offers a program designed to perform a quick and accurate screening of the visual, perceptual, and psychological skills you need to operate a motor vehicle. These tools help identify individuals who are at risk for driving problems.

Patients can receive Outpatient Therapy Services with a physician's referral. Authorization may be required by your insurance company first.
