Deaconess Hospital has been ranked one of the top 200 hospitals in the country based on the most complete and compliant coding practices in 2005, according to the “2006 Top 200 Coding Hospitals in the U.S.” report by HSS, an Ingenix company.
The Top 200 Coding Hospitals report states the findings of a national study of inpatient coding performance and highlights the increasingly important role medical records coding and health information management are playing in the revenue cycle management process. In addition, the report also emphasizes the value of using quantitative measures of coding performance. More than 3,000 hospitals in four categories were analyzed nationwide: rural–non-teaching, urban–non-teaching, minor teaching, and major teaching. Within each group, HSS identified the 50 hospitals that achieved the best combination of complete and compliant coding.
Deaconess was identified as a top performer in its peer group – urban, non-teaching – and is recognized for setting a high standard for effective coding and documentation practices.
HSS, an Ingenix company, is a nationally recognized leader in solutions for streamlining coding, regulatory and reimbursement processes.
