I love working at Deaconess Hospital because of its supportive and caring environment. Interacting with my co-workers provides the team support that improves my own quality of care and directly benefits our patients. Deaconess has also provided me with the excellent opportunity of acquiring new skills through graduate studies. Performing graduate studies while working has been the ultimate learning experience. Working at Deaconess has done more to advance my skill set as physical therapist than anything else.

"Even if staff leave, they usually come back. We have the best unit in the community. And we're more flexible."

Pam
Registered Nurse

"When I first started, I saw so many people working for one common goal - making Deaconess the best hospital around. We worked to improve everyday. Thirty-two years later, I can say the same thing, partially because I'm still working with the same people as the day I started. Being surrounded by so many people with so much experience - patients believe they're in good, knowledgeable hands."

"Along with experienced employees, I love the small hospital setting. It's so easy to keep track of your patients, and follow up on their care and spend time with them while they're here - which allows us to give them the best results in the most comforting atmosphere."

"We give quality care from knowledgeable people in a timely fashion. Patients get appointments faster and test results quicker - giving us more time to provide caring treatment. We're just like a family - who better to care for our patients than family?"

"I've worked at larger hospitals. Though there are lots of employees and lots of patients, there's not a lot of interaction. At Deaconess, our smaller units afford staff to get to know each other - and their patients - better! We work together, and we always have a name for a face. Our staff is more personal and personable."

"When I'm working on the unit, I know that if the Vice President Patient Services walks down the hall, she's going to know who I am. And so will the maintenance man and the lab tech and the dietary and housekeeping staff. We have close-knit relationships that don't happen in larger hospitals, and that allows us to give patients excellent, attentive care."

"From the day I interviewed, I knew this was where I wanted to be."
