On September 25, The Deaconess Foundation was honored to receive the Ernest Talbert award from Talbert House, a Cincinnati organization dedicated to improving social behavior and enhancing personal recovery and growth. The award acknowledges one of Deaconess’ most visible and successful efforts: Deaconess Health Checks. Tony Woods, Chairman of Deaconess Associations Inc., accepted the award at the Talbert House Annual Luncheon at Cincinnati’s Hyatt Regency.
Deaconess Health Checks are clinics that provide a variety of primary care services in traditionally underserved locations including school-based centers, homeless shelters, and behavioral centers. There are currently 12 Deaconess Health Checks operating or under construction in Greater Cincinnati, including Talbert House clinics in Walnut Hills and in Price Hill.
“We have long been committed to the betterment of the Cincinnati community,” said Woods, “and community partnerships are paramount to this effort. It is an honor to be recognized by an organization that embraces that philosophy as well.”
